Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and HeyScholr. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please don't use HeyScholr. Your privacy is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.

Who can use HeyScholr

You must be an adult (the age of majority in your province or state) to create an account. HeyScholr is for a parent or legal guardian to plan and support a child's home education. The account holder is responsible for the children and activity added under their account, and for supervising a child's use of kid mode.

You agree that the information you provide is accurate, that you have the authority to provide information about the children on your account, and that you will keep your sign-in access secure.

What HeyScholr provides

HeyScholr generates daily lessons and teaching guidance, builds weekly plans from curriculum topics, tracks progress and mastery, and produces plain-language summaries to help you keep homeschooling records. Lessons are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and are meant to support a teaching parent, not to replace your judgment.

Curriculum and compliance are guidance, not official advice

HeyScholr draws on official curriculum sources and summarizes each jurisdiction's homeschooling expectations to help you stay organized. It is a planning and record-keeping aid, not legal advice and not an official government service.

• You are responsible for meeting your jurisdiction's actual homeschooling requirements, including any registration, notification, subjects, hours, or reporting.
• Please verify specifics against your Ministry or Department of Education. Requirements change, and only the official source is authoritative.
• The compliance summaries and any documents you download are prepared to help you, and are not a substitute for the official forms or filings your jurisdiction may require.

About AI-generated lessons

Lesson scripts, explanations, practice questions, and activities are produced by an automated model. They are usually helpful, but they can occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not quite right for your child. Review each lesson before teaching it, and use your own judgment. Suggested videos come from third parties and are not created or endorsed by us; preview them before watching together.

Acceptable use

When using HeyScholr, you agree not to:

• Use it for anyone other than the children on your own account, or resell or redistribute the lessons and content as your own product.
• Attempt to access another family's data, probe or disrupt the service, or bypass its security or usage limits.
• Upload or enter unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, or use the service to violate anyone's rights.
• Use automated means to scrape or overload the service beyond normal individual use.

Accounts, plans, and billing

HeyScholr offers a 14-day free trial, then billed automatically at the rate shown at signup. A payment method is required to start a trial. You can cancel at any time from your account, and you won't be charged for a period you no longer have access to.

We may change, add, or remove features as the product develops. If a change materially reduces what a paid plan offers, we will give you notice and a fair option.

Your content

The information you enter, including child profiles and activity you log, remains yours. You grant us the limited permission needed to store it and to operate the service for you (for example, sending a topic to our AI provider to generate that lesson). We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it to train third-party advertising models.

Ending your use

You can stop using HeyScholr at any time and delete a child or your whole account from the app. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or where needed to protect the service or other families. If we end your access without cause, you will not be charged for a paid period you cannot use.

Disclaimers and limits

HeyScholr is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular educational outcome, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited under the law where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make a material change we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use HeyScholr after an update means you accept the revised terms.
